Donkey Sanctuary Bonaire is committed to providing a protected life for all of Bonaire’s donkeys. It also educates islanders, schools and tourists about the world of donkeys. Donkey Sanctuary Bonaire is currently home to more than 700 donkeys. They are provided with food, drinking water and medical care there and have plenty of space and freedom.
When a report comes in of a wild donkey in distress, volunteers go out to help the animal. Sick and injured animals are cared for at the shelter, with a veterinarian involved if necessary.
