A taste of Rincón: Cadushy and Posada Para Mira

Give the island’s interior an afternoon

Not every memorable holiday day needs a beach bag. Head towards Rincón for an outing built around flavour and local stories. The Cadushy Distillery and Posada Para Mira make an appealing pair.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday works with the restaurant’s published lunch schedule. Posada Para Mira is closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Cadushy: a different way to discover cactus

Founded by the Gietman family in 2009, The Cadushy Distillery is known for its cactus liqueur and also produces Rom Rincon. Its visitor centre introduces Bonaire through something made on the island and the story behind it.

The distillery currently lists daily opening from 10:00 to 17:00 and free admission. Leave time for the garden and ask about explanations and tasting options during your visit. Agree beforehand who will skip alcohol and drive home.

Sit down to Krioyo cooking

Posada Para Mira serves local Krioyo food: think goat or chicken stews and fish, with accompaniments such as funchi or rice. Ask what is available that day and try something you would not normally cook at home.

Give lunch its own place in the afternoon instead of treating it as a quick stop. For a larger party, reserve ahead and mention dietary requirements.

The kitchen lists 11:00–17:00 opening, while the bar stays open until 18:00 on trading days. Arriving before the bar closes does not necessarily mean lunch is still available.

Add a coastal chapter, or simply head home

For a contrast to the village, consider 1000 Steps as another stop. Follow local road signs and keep enough time to enjoy each place.

Or make Rincón the whole outing and return to Villa Aventura afterwards. A new flavour and a different view of Bonaire are plenty to bring home.
