Make time for the animals
The sanctuary has cared for donkeys in need since 1993, and admission helps support its work. Treat the visit as a chance to learn about that care, as well as to see the animals.
Read the information at the park and follow staff instructions. With children, explain that an animal still needs space when it approaches people. Let the visit take its own pace.
Before you go
Cars are among the permitted ways to visit, with a care area that can be explored on foot. Quads are not allowed. The sanctuary’s website lists current visiting arrangements and entry prices.
Bring drinking water and sun protection, and wear comfortable shoes if you plan to walk. Only feed animals as directed by staff; do not bring snacks for them on your own initiative.
Keep the rest of the day easy
You could combine the visit with a short drive past the southern salt pans, then return to the villa for a quieter afternoon.
For a larger party, ask one person to check opening times and share the departure plan. There is no need to add several more stops just because everyone is already out.
